For a bio-functional fixation the stem body of the Pyramid uncemented stem version is made of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V with a pure titanium plasma layer (Ti-VPS) with rough surface and an additional thin layer of calcium phosphate (CaP).
The Ti-VPS layer supports a safe and long-term fixation whereas the thin top layer of CaP aims for a fast osseointegration.
